Why We Build

Poverty housing in the United States is not limited to just the inner cities. Rural families suffer the same shortage of affordable housing as do families in the metropolitan area. One in every five households in a nonmetropolitan area is “cost burdened,” paying more than the federal standard of 30 percent of income for housing costs. Watch the video below to further believe in Habitat's mission to reduce this threat and build more dreams into realities.
